Base pay range

Hourly Rate: £12.79 per hour

Hours: Rolling 4 days on, 4 days off schedule, including weekends and bank holidays

As a Street Cleaner at FCC Environment, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of public spaces across the Eden district. You will be responsible for carrying out daily street cleansing activities, emptying litter bins, and ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.

This is a full-time position, working a rolling shift pattern.

What will you be doing?
  • Carry out street cleansing activities across the Eden district, working alone or as part of a team
  • Empty litter bins and maintain public areas according to schedule
  • Check and maintain equipment daily, reporting defects or damage
  • Clean vehicles daily and maintain them as per specification
  • Report accidents, near‑misses, and dangerous occurrences promptly
  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with the public, client staff, and colleagues
  • Work a rolling 4 days on, 4 days off pattern, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Support other duties as needed, especially during the winter months
