Job description

Ashton Gate Stadium is a unique sports and entertainment business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.

JOB PURPOSE

As the Store Supervisor, you will assist the Store Manager in the running of the store’s day-to-day operations. This role requires a confident, organised, and driven individual who can lead a team, deliver excellent customer service, and increase the sales in our retail store.

Retail Operations, Customer Service and Sales
  • Oversee daily store operations including opening & closing procedures, visual merchandising and general tidiness of the store.
  • Drive in-store sales through effective product presentation, customer engagement, and sales coaching.
  • Manage the matchday operations of the store, including pop-up stores across the stadium and at alternative venues.
  • Working with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and wider store team to transition the store for matchdays, with different layouts and merchandise required for Bristol City Men, Bristol Bears Men, Bristol City Women and Non-Matchdays.
  • Stay up to date with retail legislation and implement necessary changes.
  • Ensure the store delivers an outstanding customer experience in line with the club’s brand values
  • Champion a supporter-first mindset, particularly during busy periods such as kit launches, holidays, and matchdays
  • Help drive store performance against KPIs, including sales targets, average transaction value, footfall, and conversion rates.
Leadership
  • Help the Store Manager motivate and lead the store team, both permanent and casual to deliver high standards in customer service, operational efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to staff, promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a retail management role, preferably within the sports industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for supporter experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with POS systems, stock management software, and ecommerce integration.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends, matchdays, and seasonal peaks.
  • Experience in stock control and visual merchandising.
  • Passion for sports and knowledge of Bristol Sport and its clubs is an advantage, but not essential.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 over 7 days, including evenings and weekend

Salary: up to £26,500 per annum
