Job Purpose

As a Qualified Social Worker within the MAP Team, you will provide specialist support to children, young people, and families facing complex challenges. The role involves multi‑agency collaboration, timely intervention, and ensuring the delivery of effective support services. You’ll assess risk, develop care plans, and ensure all statutory requirements for safeguarding and child protection are met.

What You Will Do
Casework and Assessment

Manage a caseload of children and families, completing comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans.

Undertake risk assessments and recommend Child Protection Plans or Care Orders when appropriate.

Provide direct, practical, and emotional support to children and families experiencing difficulties such as neglect or family breakdown.

Collaboration and Intervention

Work closely with professionals across health, education, housing, and voluntary sectors to deliver coordinated and effective interventions.

Participate in multi‑agency meetings to ensure consistent communication and planning for families.

Legal and Compliance

Prepare and present detailed court reports, attend hearings, and contribute to the decision‑making process.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date case records, adhering to Surrey County Council policies, procedures, and Data Protection legislation.

Professional Practice

Engage in regular supervision and reflective practice to ensure ongoing learning and improvement.

Contribute to the development of best practices within the MAP Team, supporting a positive and proactive team culture.
