Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervising Social Worker to join the Fostering Team in Birmingham, UK. This ongoing locum position offers a full-time role at £30.57 per hour and may extend as a secondment in our Fostering Support Team, potentially until June 2026. The team provides essential support to placements for children and young people under the care of foster carers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of approved foster carers, providing support, advice and supervision to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with other teams and agencies, both statutory and voluntary, to promote a holistic approach to fostering support.
  • Deliver high-quality, child-focused services to foster carers and the children in their care, ensuring needs are met and welfare is prioritised.
  • Analyse and interpret key legislation to guide interventions and maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of audiences, ensuring information is conveyed accurately and comprehensively.
About you

Are you a qualified and SWE registered social worker with a proven track record in working with vulnerable children and their families? Do you bring prior experience as a Supervising Social Worker and have a knack for flexible, collaborative teamwork? If you have a deep understanding of relevant legislation and can demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, this role may be right for you.
