The role

As a SHE Trainer, you’ll have a highly rewarding position where your expertise makes a meaningful difference every day. You’ll contribute directly to the safety of people, assets and critical national‑security operations. You will also have the opportunity to develop professionally as you work with a supportive team, apply your specialist knowledge and help embed best practice across the site.

Day-to-day, you’ll play a vital role in shaping a strong, positive safety culture across one of the UK’s most important defence sites. You’ll deliver high‑quality training to employees with a wide range of experience, from in‑house safety awareness courses to externally accredited QCF programmes, helping to ensure the safety, health and environmental competence of the Devonport workforce.

• Deliver a range of high‑quality Health and Safety training courses to employees at varying experience levels.
• Maintain professional standards set by relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure compliant training delivery.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise to support the routine review and amendment of course content.
• Support the development and maintenance of a quality management system, including lesson plans, objectives and course tracking.
• Carry out administration and reporting duties associated with training delivery and support a positive safety culture across the site.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the SHE Trainer

• Maintain professional standards set by relevant associations and awarding bodies to ensure compliant training delivery.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise to support the routine review and amendment of course content.
• Support the development and maintenance of a quality management system, including lesson plans, objectives and course tracking.
• Carry out administration and reporting duties associated with training delivery, promote a positive safety culture, and ideally bring experience delivering accredited safety or compliance‑based training programmes.
• Deliver high‑quality Health and Safety training courses to employees with varied experience levels.

Qualifications for the SHE Trainer

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
• Level 3 Award in Adult Education and Training, or equivalent
• Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent
• Additional safety‑related qualifications or training certifications - Desirable
