Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UK seeks a Service Account Manager to enhance customer satisfaction by providing technical support and managing client accounts. You will execute sales strategies and develop key relationships for repeat business while ensuring best practices for client operations. The ideal candidate should possess a formal engineering qualification and have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. A clean driving licence is also required, along with excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Formal engineering qualification (Mech and/or Elec – HNC as minimum, Degree beneficial).
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles (mechanical and electrical).
  • Competent knowledge of installing and maintaining electrical/PLCs, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Offer flexible support customers through remote and on-site fault finding.

Overall purpose of role:

The Service Account Manager will be responsible for increasing levels of customer satisfaction, provide technical support to resolve client onsite issues and drive order generation through active account management. The role develops relationships with clients to gain sales, repeat business, provide technical support and completes all supporting reports, presentations and administrative processes.

This role will be based in the UK and will cover active accounts in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for client issues (breakdown, performance concerns, etc.)
  • Offer flexible support customers through remote and on-site fault finding.
  • Provide regular client training to ensure ‘best practice’ regarding operation and maintenance.
  • Execute a sales strategy to proactively sell Matcon products, gain repeat sales of all products and spares and offer service capabilities.
  • Develop relationships with key account holders within the territory to increase the level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Proactively seek and progress opportunities. converting leads into sales.
  • Understand market pricing and manage prices.
  • Liaise closely with internal stakeholders (system sales & sales support) to ensure continuity of the sales process.
  • Submit detailed sales visit reports to communicate customer, market and industry intel to the wider business.
  • Manage and introduce service contract management to aid revenue generation and renewal

Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • Formal engineering qualification (Mech and/or Elec – HNC as minimum, Degree beneficial) or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles (mechanical and electrical) and extensive knowledge of how they are applied
  • Competent knowledge of installing and maintaining electrical/PLCs, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • High level of industry knowledge in capital goods and powder handling would be an advantage
