Qualifications

Albert House is a registered residential service supporting 8 adults with profound physical and learning disabilities, all wheelchair users, aged between 40 and 65 years. The service offers spacious, accessible living areas, wheelchair access throughout, two communal bathrooms (one with an accessible bath and a wet room), a large kitchen, a generous communal lounge, a multi‑sensory and relaxation area, an activities room, a large paved patio/garden, and a grassy area leading to the river.

CareTech Community Services is a Sponsored Employer; the sponsorship programme is currently full. Applicants must have an existing right‑to‑work in the UK that does not require sponsorship and must not currently be under an existing sponsorship.

The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and mental health needs. You’ll provide both practical and emotional care while helping individuals lead as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the daily implementation of individual care and support plans.
  • Lead by example and mentor junior team members.
  • Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning.
  • Encourage service users to participate in social and community activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice for every individual.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and quality care.
About You
  • Qualified with NVQ Level 3 / Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willing to work towards it).
  • Experienced in supporting adults with learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and/or mental health needs.
  • Calm under pressure, resilient and adaptable.
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable adults and enabling positive change.
