Job Description

What will you be doing? We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong steelwork background to take on a senior role focused on design management and project coordination. This position centres on overseeing the design process rather than carrying out detailed technical calculations, ensuring that all structural elements are delivered to the required standards of quality, safety, and cost‑efficiency.

In this role, you will act as a key link between engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, guiding design activities and ensuring that steel components are planned and executed in line with UK expectations and regulatory requirements.

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Oversee and coordinate the full design lifecycle for steel structures.
  • Manage communication between designers, fabricators, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Review design proposals to ensure safety, compliance, and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Ensure design decisions consider buildability, installation methods, and risk reduction.
  • Support contract management and monitor contractor performance.
  • Lead design reviews, design checks, and approval processes for steel elements.
