About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Planner to lead programme management for nuclear defence projects in Glasgow. You will oversee complex schedules, manage interfaces across multiple projects and suppliers, and provide strategic insights to support critical decision‑making.

This role offers the opportunity to shape project delivery while mentoring junior planners and contributing to a high‑performance planning team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, management, and control of complex programmes in Primavera P6 across a diverse portfolio.
  • Review programme elements within scope and procurement documents, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Manage interfaces between projects, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring NEC4 compliance.
  • Analyse progress and forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities, and optimising remaining works.
  • Develop baseline changes and ‘what-if’ scenarios to support decision‑making.
  • Produce clear, concise reporting for senior management, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior planners and support continuous improvement in planning processes and tools.
Key Requirements
  • Advanced Primavera P6 experience, with integrated project schedules on major projects.
  • Strong experience across all project lifecycle stages, ideally within construction or regulated/nuclear industries.
  • NEC contract and schedule management experience.
  • Expertise in planning techniques, scenario modelling, and schedule optimisation.
  • Understanding of tender, contract documents, and technical specifications.
  • Strong risk and opportunity management skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
