Carrington West is assisting their local authority client based in the Home Counties in the search for a Senior Major Projects Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 6‑month contract (potential to extend).

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional who can demonstrate the qualities and potential to successfully deal with an interesting caseload of major planning applications.

Responsibilities

• Deal with major planning applications as part of the development management team.
• Work within a team environment and negotiate with other-earring professionals.

Requirements

• Have worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department.
• Possess good fundamental and technical knowledge of all relevant planning legislation and policies.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Be a motivated self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
• It would be beneficial to hold a Post‑graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.
• Eligibility for membership of RTPI (beneficial).

The council offers hybrid working arrangements and requires weekly presence.
