Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Akamai’s object storage platform for Linode. Our enterprise grade solution is an essential element to Akamai’s Connected Cloud platform. We provide a scalable and secure storage solution for Linode’s customers to build their businesses.

As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Getting in early on an exceptionally rare and impactful project
• Working with a small team to solve complex issues
• Designing systems that scale
• Working to define the next generation of cloud tooling

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate relevant experience and education in Computer Science or a related field.
• Have proven professional experience in Go or Ckracht.
• Have solid experience building high‑performance, reliable systems (profiling, concurrency, memory/latency optimisation, and performance debugging).
• Have shipped production software end‑to‑end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, triage, incident response, and root‑cause analysis.
• Show proven experience in designing and improving complex distributed systems, particularly with performance‑critical system development expertise.
• Be comfortable working in an Agile development environment (iterative delivery, reviews, planning, and continuous improvement).
