Job description
Overview

turn IT on is current seeking an experienced ICT Consultant/Senior ICT Technician who is motivated and enthusiastic about technology. The role supports schools in and around Buckinghamshire, acting as the liaison between the schools and turn IT on, and helping to manage customer accounts and ICT provision to improve teaching and learning through ICT solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Handle 2nd/3rd line ICT issues, respond to emergencies and school complaints.
  • Resolve and manage technical issues impacting school functions by providing robust technical solutions.
  • Provide internal network support.
  • Help with the support/mentoring of the 1st/2nd line support roles.
  • Enforce and monitor activities in line with school policies.
  • Internal staff training.
  • Lead on installation or repair of computers with standardised applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving problems.
  • Responsible for a wide range of technical duties related to the computer network and desktop services, including desktops, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns and hardware, across existing installations and upgrades.
Qualifications / Skills
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a Senior ICT Technician or 2nd/3rd support role in the education sector (experience in this area is not essential but preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to service improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to liaise with school senior management on a regular basis.
  • Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Virtualisation technologies, particularly Hyper-V.
  • Cloud technologies (Office 365/Azure).
  • Experience leading on installations of servers and networks.
  • Strong customer service orientation and proactive communication (verbal and written).
  • Flexible, adaptable, friendly, and a good team player; able to work independently and manage own time effectively.
Benefits and Terms

The role is offered on a full-time, full-year basis. Salary is between £30,000 - £35,000 (negotiable for the right person). A DBS and safeguarding checks will be required. Driving and having your own vehicle are necessary due to location.
