Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant - Land Contamination: Successful and innovative SME Environmental Consultancy with an exciting opportunity. This role is based in Oxford.

Overview

Our client is a respected environmental consultancy with a strong track record in delivering pragmatic and cost-effective solutions across land quality, planning, and regulatory sectors. Known for their responsive approach and technical expertise, they support a diverse portfolio of clients including developers, planners, and public sector bodies.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to work directly with senior management in the Land Contamination and Remediation team.

You will assist with the project management, planning and implementation/supervision of ground investigations and remediation schemes for projects within the construction, waste and development sector, and so should have strong organisational and report writing skills. You will be office-based but expected to travel to sites, as necessary.

Our client is committed to investing in the continuing development of staff and you will be supported and trained to perform the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management and supervision of ground investigations and remediation schemes.
  • Planning and implementation of site-based work within the construction, waste, and development sectors.
  • Soil and rock logging, and collection of soil and water samples in line with quality control procedures.
  • Preparation of technical reports including Factual Reports, Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRA), Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA), Remediation Strategies.
  • Liaising with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Supporting senior management within the Land Contamination and Remediation Team.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
Key Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a relevant environmental science.
  • Minimum of 5 years' background in land contamination and ground investigation/remediation.
  • Proven track record in supervising ground investigations and soil logging/sampling.
  • Strong report writing and project management skills.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body and evidence of ongoing CPD.
  • Professional, client-facing attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • CSCS card holder (preferable).
  • Clean UK/EU driving licence.
