The Role

We are looking for a Senior Geo Environmental Engineer to join our team in Leeds. We are well known locally for working on projects such as the Wellington Place office development, the former Tetley Brewery site now known as Aire Park, and Airedale General Hospital.

This role involves working with a degree of independence, under limited supervision from the team leader to manage and deliver projects. The successful candidate will have responsibility for client liaison and financial and people management within project lifecycles. The role will also involve writing and reviewing technical documents such as Phase 1s, Phase 2s and Remediation Strategies. The position includes occasional site supervision of investigations and construction (including earthworks and remediation) and ensuring all activities comply with Curtins' procedures and the highest safety, health and environmental standards. The chosen candidate may be asked to support the team leader with business development and work‑winning.

An understanding of DoWCOP processes and/or Qualified Person (QP) status for involvement within Materials Management Plans (MMP) is advantageous but not required.

The Right Fit

We are looking for someone with experience as a Geo Environmental Consultant, ideally in a multi‑discipline consultancy, to support our existing team in Leeds.

  • A suitable candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Geology or a related discipline (or equivalent), with a master's degree desirable but not essential.
  • They should be chartered or working under a recognised professional institution training pathway towards chartership.
  • They should have a good understanding of geology and contaminated land with ground investigation supervision skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • The role requires excellent written skills for producing clear, high‑quality technical reports, strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a consistent focus on health and safety.
  • Any applicant must hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel and work outdoors.
