Compensation: £28,000 - £32,000 / year

Location: Leicester, LE3 5BZ

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week. Office Based.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (Subject Tax and NI)

Bonus: Opportunity to earn £1250 every 3 months.

A day in the life of a Senior Debt Recovery Specialist at Yü involves managing a portfolio of customer accounts with high balance complex energy disputes to ensure timely payment of debts, contacting customers to arrange repayments, resolving metering, billing, and liability queries.

In depth account reviews need to take place to ensure there is debt reduction on ledgers and completing checklists to potentially initiate disconnection or legal action for unpaid debts. Collaboration with other departments is key as well as a willingness to be upskilled to ensure debt targets are met. Your day will involve calling and emailing customers chasing for debt and resolving any disputes highlighted.

• Take full ownership of overdue commercial accounts by contacting clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
• Manage complex and high-value cases—carry out thorough investigations, negotiate confidently, and recover outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with the Legal and Customer Service teams to resolve disputes efficiently and professionally.
• Assess the underlying causes of non-payment, evaluate risk, and propose appropriate preventative strategies.
• Analyse debt trends, monitor team performance, and deliver insightful reports to senior management.
