Senior Business Analyst

Department: Business Services - Operational Change/Transformation

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Bristol

Description

Purpose of the role:

  • To provide analysis of, and help develop solutions for, business problems and initiatives.
  • To provide guidance and support to other Business Analysts within Business Services and DACB.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the clear and accurate identification of business problems and requirements
  • Production of appropriately documented, effective and measurable solution designs
  • Clear communication with and to all stakeholders
  • Data Analysis and Insights
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Management and reporting of team workload and to assist in resource planning
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, including on-boarding new starters
  • Is also willing to take ownership on any other tasks and responsibilities as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Have extensive and current business analysis experience working across the full IT development life cycle
  • Have extensive and current experience of business process re-engineering for delivering business change
  • Have significant experience of working with SSADM/OO/Lean/Agile and other methodologies
  • Be proficient with requirements capture and diagramming tools e.g. Visio, Azure Dev Ops
  • Have experience of reporting to and working closely with senior business stakeholders and project sponsors
  • Have experience of guiding and mentoring other analysts to produce work of consistent quality

  • Be a team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and present findings persuasively.

  • Have the ability to work simultaneously on multiple small and/or large assignments
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with change management and benefits realisation methodologies (e.g., MSP or APMG Managing Benefits).
