Contract & Salary

Fixed Term – Full Time (37.5 hours). Salary up to £52,471 DOE per annum.

About the role

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Biomedical Scientist in our Microbiology Department based at Princess Alexandra Harlow (PAH) Hospital following the implementation of a new Pathology and Phlebotomy services programme. The position will commence from 1st March 2025 and may later transfer to the new hub laboratory at 7 Croxley Park, Watford or the Halo hub lab in Kings Cross, London.

The successful candidate will join our dedicated biomedical scientists and associate practitioners in delivering a high‑quality, 7‑day microbiology service. Commitment to service excellence and a genuine desire for continued personal and professional development are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality routine microbiology service 7 days a week.
  • Participate in all relevant shifts to cover the laboratory’s 7‑day service.
Qualifications
  • Approved undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science (or equivalent).
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous laboratory experience is helpful; full training will be provided.
