Job description

The General Liability Insurance team spans London and Bristol and islinked with the Medical and Life Sciences team. The team is part ofthe firm's Insurance Group and has a well-established client base,acting for a number of market leading liability insurers in theprovision of their employers, public and products liability servicesto insured businesses.

The role

Our General Liability team is seeking a lawyer (circa 5 years PQE +)to join the team in Bristol. The role will predominantly be dealingwith personal injury claims, with the opportunity to become involvedin associated regulatory matters such as health and safetyinvestigations/prosecutions and inquests. There is also theopportunity to deal with the regulation of products.

The work will be very varied, interesting and challenging and whereyou show you can run the cases successfully, you will be givenautonomy to make your own mark on the files. You will also have theopportunity to get involved with business development and clientinitiatives, where appropriate.

In addition, you can expect to:

  • Manage and assist with the management of fast track, intermediateand multi-track personal injury claims.
  • Advise on all legal aspects relating to claims, including coverage.
  • Deliver a high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring highlevels of client service and alignment with agreed working practicesand client service level agreements.
  • Work to develop an environment of constant improvement:enthusiastically sharing with and helping others; and takingresponsibility for aspects of team development, such as intranetpages, training and induction, process improvement etc.
  • Capture and collate required Management Information in accordancewith agreed practice for clients.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the team'sservice, support, processes, and procedures.
  • Attend client events and/or travel, principally to London, when required.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Circa 5 years PQE with an ability to apply technical knowledge andexpertise in handling personal injury claims and fast tracklitigation, with appropriate supervision.
  • Experience, or an interest in gaining experience in, Product Lawand Health & Safety.
  • Able to deliver legal and commercial solutions, workingcollaboratively with clients and colleagues to provide anoutstanding client experience.
  • Understands how to develop junior team members and support their ambitions.
  • Committed to business development to further grow the practice.
  • Able to work efficiently and commercially and understand theimportance of financial hygiene.
  • A good knowledge of legal procedures.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Able to manage client relationships and deliver trusted relationships.
