We are seeking to bolster our team in London closely connected with the firm’s global network.Accordingly, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious senior associate to join our growing market-leading media, entertainment and sports global team, based in London. The successful candidate will manage a broad practice of advisory and transactional matters, often with an international element.The role will suit someone who is ambitious, commercially minded, able to take initiative and who enjoys business development, looking to move to a collaborative, lean and energetic team.In return, we can offer a friendly and welcoming environment which is entrepreneurial, supportive and dynamic, together with a varied mix of interesting and challenging work.**Responsibilities*** Advise clients in the media, entertainment and sports sector on a range of commercial transactions, including sponsorship agreements, licensing arrangements, joint ventures and other complex commercial contracts.* Drafting bespoke commercial contracts and acting for clients in negotiating and concluding those contracts.* Work alongside our other advisory, transactional and disputes colleagues on matters where there is a crossover* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing pragmatic and strategic advice* Manage all client work allocated, ensuring that it is progressed in a timely fashion and that the client is kept apprised on progress and costs, and provide consistently excellent client service* Demonstrate excellent organisational skills to meet the demands of clients, external stakeholders and the business.* Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and friendly manner* Participate in self-motivated business development and business development with the wider team* Keep up to date with legal developments and contribute to thought leadership within the team* Supervise and assist in the professional development of more junior team members.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of essential functions, responsibilities or requirements.**Experience, skills and personal attributes*** Experience of commercial contracts in a sports, media and/or entertainment role is essential, ideally in a city, national or large regional or US law firm with a recognised practice in the field, or perhaps in a suitable practice focused in-house position* Ability to understand complex legal principles and apply them accordingly* Superior drafting skills, analytical skills and negotiation skills* A high level of oral and written communication, presentation and influencing skills with the ability to quickly establish relationships at all levels* Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and actively seek new business development opportunities* A commercial acumen and pragmatic outlook* Ability to demonstrate a flexible and hands-on attitude, responding effectively to rapidly changing circumstances.* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.* Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).* Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a role model for the team* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure* Demonstrate the ability to manage simultaneous workstreams to tight deadlines* Must be able to work autonomously* Excellent prioritisation and time management skills* Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment* A team player, must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues across the London office and internationally* Demonstrated ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent, sound judgement**Qualifications**Admitted to practice as a solicitor or barrister either in England & Wales or qualified overseas with experience in the London market.Undergraduate degree achieving a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent.**No Fees Required**: GT will **never ask for payment for work equipment or network access**.
