Job summary

A specialized educational organization in Manchester is seeking a part-time SEND Tutor to provide personalized tuition to secondary-aged learners. Overview

SEND Tutor — Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and patientSEND Tutor to work with asecondary-aged learner on a part-time basis. The role involves delivering personalised tuition in a supportive, low-pressure environment, tailored to the learner’s individual needs and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver4.5 hours of tuition across Monday and Tuesday
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons appropriate to asecondary curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meetSEND needs
  • Build a positive, trusting relationship with the learner
  • Support academic progress, confidence, and engagement with learning
  • Monitor progress and adjust sessions as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant professionals where appropriate
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working withsecondary-aged learners
  • Experience supporting students withSEND
  • Ability to deliver1:1 tuition
  • Calm, flexible, and empathetic teaching approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Desirable
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification
  • Experience working with learners who areout of school / EOTAS
  • Familiarity with EHCPs or personalised learning plans
