Our client is an established charity with an excellent track record in supporting young people and adults with a range of mental health needs and disabilities. They are looking to recruit a Mental Health, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity Lead Nurse to join their organisation.

As the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity Lead Nurse you will provide leadership, specialist advice and support in the areas of Mental Health, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity. The role focuses on supporting implementation of the Health and Wellbeing strategy, aiming to reduce health inequalities and improve quality of care and support provided to individuals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to operational teams on the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Support care delivery that is person‑centred and tailored to individual needs.
  • Facilitate debriefing and undertake root cause analysis (RCA) investigation as required.
  • Advocate for individuals, ensuring access to appropriate healthcare and robust health support plans.
  • Ability to complete robust assessments and review data and information from a variety of sources to make recommendations and provide advice.
  • Coach and mentor operational colleagues.
  • Conduct audits on mental health‑related support, ensuring follow‑through on action plans.
  • Review and update policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with locality managers to lead service improvement projects that enhance care quality.
  • The role requires travel between locations and adapt to flexible working hours, including occasional overnight stays.
About You

Are you a self‑motivated and organised SEND nurse, with 4 years post registration clinical experience within Mental Health, Learning Disability and Neurodiversity? If this sounds like you, we really want to hear from you. You will require to have the following skills:

  • Professional Nursing Qualification (RGN, RNLD, RMN).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Teaching qualification (desirable).
  • Professional degree or post graduate certificate in a relevant field (desirable).

  • Clear commitment to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work.
