Job description

Essential:
  • HLTA status (or equivalent Level 4 qualification).
  • Significant experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or moderate learning difficulties.
  • Confident delivering lessons or learning activities under the direction of a teacher.
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for supporting SEN (e.g., visual timetables, sensory integration, augmentative communication).
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a caring, calm, and consistent approach.
Desirable:
  • Training in Team Teach or other positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Experience using PECS, Makaton, or AAC.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures in specialist settings.
