The SIPP (Self-Invested Personal Pensions) business is a key growth area for Barnett Waddingham. As a Scrum Master in the SIPP360 team, you will facilitate and oversee the Scrum Teams developing our SIPP platforms.

Working with our agile Development Teams, you will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing software as well as the development and progression of our exciting new product designed to accelerate our ambitious business growth plans.

Reporting to the Software Delivery Manager and as a key person in the Scrum Development team, you will work alongside highly skilled peers in business and technology. You will have ample opportunity to influence direction and, quality.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Product Owner on backlog grooming, prioritisation and maintenance of the product backlog
  • Utilise broad leadership skills to build trust, promote commitment, ensure accountability and maintain focus on delivery
  • Facilitate daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings
  • Help the team to avoid or navigate blockers and interferences that may hinder project progress
  • Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution among the team members
  • Monitor project progress and performance, reporting progress and findings to stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality delivery throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Assess the Scrum maturity of the team, coaching the unit to achieve higher levels of maturity
  • Ensure a conducive environment for the team, enabling members to work efficiently and effectively
  • Assist with the implementation of Scrum frameworks and Agile principles
  • Ensure the team adheres to an agreed implementation of Scrum theory, practices, and rules
Qualifications
  • Experience in agile methodologies and scrum techniques, with excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master working with multiple software development teams
  • The ability to prioritise business results and understand how to achieve them given timeframes and resources
  • An understanding of technical tasks with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure and microservice architecture
  • A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
  • Relevant GCSE, A level or degree qualifications or proven experience in a similar role
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to deliver quality solutionsExcellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to grasp detailed requirements/issues and propose innovative, quality solutions
  • A structured, analytical approach to work and problem solving
