Grade C - £35,412 - £44,075

Working 36.5 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced colleague to join our Admissions ICT team within the School Admissions and Fair Access Service.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in school admissions and data management. This role requires confidence, as you will regularly deliver training to school staff, and engage with other stakeholders both internally and externally, including software suppliers, as well as a good level of IT knowledge, as the role holder will be taking a lead on online admissions and data management for the School Admissions service within Birmingham City Council.

This role is fast-paced, and the post-holder will be required to meet regular deadlines which are in line with statutory set dates. You will be supporting the IT functions for all rounds of admissions, and be responsible for testing IT systems throughout the year, to ensure upgraded systems are in working order and issues raised are resolved promptly.

This role requires an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of all relevant school admissions codes, policies, and procedures, and the ability to apply these to everyday tasks. The role is split between providing advice and support for our service users (schools/parents/stakeholders), management of IT systems and processes such as issue investigation and resolution, and testing and software implementation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities, and who has outstanding communication and organisational skills.
