Job Summary

You will work as part of our installation team carrying out solar panel roof installations on domestic and commercial properties. The role includes solar mounting, fixing rails, panel installation and assisting electricians during system commissioning. This is a hands-on role that requires strong roofing skills and a willingness to work at height. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The ideal applicant will possess relevant technical skills and physical endurance to undertake demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install solar PV roof mounting systems and panels on domestic and commercial properties
• Work as part of a team alongside electricians and other installation staff
• Inspect and assess roofs to ensure suitability and safety prior to installation
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and in accordance with company training and site rules
• Carry out manual handling tasks safely in line with company risk assessments
• Operate safely at height using appropriate fall protection and access equipment, following the Work at Height Regulations 2005
• Follow company RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and safe systems of work
• Maintain a tidy and safe working area, ensuring correct storage and use of tools, equipment and materials
• Comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all company health and safety policies
• Complete installation reports and work records accurately and on time
• Travel to project sites across Lincolnshire and surrounding regions as required
• Represent the company professionally, maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in roofing or a related construction trade
• Ability to work safely at height using appropriate safety equipment
• Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools
• Understanding of basic construction methods and safe working practices
• Ability to interpret basic drawings or installation guides
• Ability to carry out manual handling tasks in line with health and safety guidelines
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable (Not Essential – Training Provided)

• Experience installing Solar PV systems
• CSCS card or equivalent
• Working at Height and/or Manual Handling training
• Experience with various roof types (tile, slate, metal, flat)
• Awareness of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• Experience reading technical drawings or layout plans

PASMA, IPAF or scaffolding awareness training
