Reporting to the Associate Dean and Director of the Center for Educational Partnerships, the Resource Specialist for NYC Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network ( NYC - RBERN ) coordinates technical assistance and professional development for NYC schools and districts. This position may require occasional regional travel.

Essential Functions
  • Facilitates, coordinates, and provides technical assistance, professional development, and related activities to the schools and districts throughout NYC.
  • Assists the Director in carrying out the mission of the NYC - RBERN by maintaining ongoing communication with the schools in the region and the Statewide districts.
  • Facilitates school-based activities in target schools that are in various stages of improvement.
  • Attends NYSED network strategy professional development meetings in Albany.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • New York State certification as a bilingual/ ESL teacher and/or administrator.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience with English Language Learner students.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in providing technical assistance to schools/staff
  • Experience and knowledge of School Improvement Initiatives and research-based best practices for teaching ELLs
  • Experience in working with a diverse population in high-need areas.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office suites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Bilingual Education or TESOL.
  • Teaching experience in secondary schools.
Salary
  • Minimum Starting Salary $96,967.00
  • Maximum Starting Salary $96,967.00

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
