Resident Medical Officer - Critical Care

37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £100,000 per annum (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Resident Medical Officer to join their team of staff. We are looking for a GP with an Accident and Emergency/ Urgent carebackground with some orthopaedic experience to work in our Private Urgent Carer centre at The Alexandra Hospital.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
  • You provide qualified medical cover for patient management 24 hours a day on a rota basis.
  • You ensure that high standards of patient care are maintained at all times in accordance with agreed operational policies, as a skilled member of the hospital team.
  • You must be present in the hospital when on duty, carrying a working bleep, and responding promptly to calls for assistance.
  • You respond to emergency bleep calls readily.
  • You are familiar with the location and mode of operation of resuscitation and monitoring equipment.
  • You are available to give clinical advice and reassurance when requested by nursing and other clinical staff, thus ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical teams within the hospital. This will include assessing patients causing clinical concerns within ward areas and reviewing patients recently discharged from to wards from ITU.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Clinical experience and skills relating to anaesthetics / intensive care medicine.
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check which does not preclude working with children or vulnerable adults.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English to an enhanced level.
  • Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Adult and Children’s Safeguarding training and awareness.
  • Experience in minor injury and illness is essential.
