The Royal Armouries is the national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for upholding the standards and reputation of a national museum and supporting other functions in delivering an exceptional visitor experience.
The candidate will be responsible for and coordinate planned preventative maintenance undertaken by external contractors. To assess, approve and ensure the rectification of any faults or repairs identified as part of contract maintenance or call out repairs, including ordering required materials and ensure timely delivery for scheduled works.
You will work closely with approved contractors and the Maintenance Manager, as you prioritise, plan, and ensure services are delivered in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring value for money whilst maintaining statutory and quality standards.
You will manage our online PPM schedule and tracker to ensure a safe and compliant service across all plant and equipment working within health and safety legislation.
In addition, you will be responsible for uploading and maintaining compliance documentation in estates systems, maintaining up-to-date records of contractor certifications, insurance, and risk assessments.
You will also work in partnership with the procurement and finance department to ensure best value and processes are achieved and followed for the Royal Armouries.
To work with the Head of Estates and Facilities in delivering minor works projects.
and schedule and support regular contractor review meetings to assess performance, compliance, and service delivery.
This position is a permanent contract, working full time, 36.0 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will occasionally be required, as will some travel.
