Role Overview
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the financial management of sites within the Wessex region, based at our offices in Malmesbury, through effective and efficient controls, producing reports to allow senior management to establish site status.
Responsibilities
- Manage up to 3–4 sites, setting budgets, producing bi‑monthly valuations (CVRs), appointing subcontractors, and making payments to maintain cost control.
- Process weekly and monthly payments efficiently, resolve disputed items and provide accurate financial status.
- Produce site valuations bi‑monthly for the Board of Directors, indicating variations from budgeted figures.
- Negotiate optimum rates for sub‑contract appointments to maximise margins.
- Use Persimmon Group COINS system to set up new sites, establish budgets, and predict profitability.
- Co‑ordinate with other departments (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) to ensure efficient site operations.
- Ensure compliance with Group Health, Safety & Environment policies.
- When deputising for the Manager, allocate tasks and verify quality of work.
- Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and add value to the region.
- Provide assistance to the Commercial Manager on key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum of HND/HNC in building‑related studies.
- Previous experience in the UK residential house‑building sector.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects at different stages, with exceptional project‑management and time‑management skills.
