We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major £130m construction project based in the Basingstoke region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to step into a key project role with long‑term progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day commercial activities on a major live project
  • Subcontract procurement, packages, and negotiations
  • Cost planning, forecasting, and budget management
  • CVRs, valuations, variations, and payment applications
  • Work closely with the Commercial Lead and Project Leadership team
  • Ensure contractual compliance and support risk management
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders
Requirements
  • Experience as a Project QS (or strong Assistant QS ready to step up)
  • Main contractor background preferred
  • Strong knowledge of JCT
  • Proven experience on large‑scale construction projects
  • Ability to manage commercial responsibilities with autonomy
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
