Job description

Bulk is on an incredible journey, with a mission to move the business from a manufacturing-led retailer to a destination brand for active nutrition.

As a sports nutrition and health food manufacturer, we produce a wide range of products including powders, capsules, tablets and soft gels within our own manufacturing facility.

In this shift based role, you will be working closely with the operations team to ensure products released to customers meet stringent Food Safety and Quality Standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager you will be responsible for monitoring Food Safety and Quality within manufacturing that support our programs for BRC implementation.

What will you be doing?

  • Conduct environmental monitoring and product sampling in line with quality management system requirements and ensure results are reported accurately.
  • To ensure there is control of product samples under positive release
  • Carry out quality control checks (e.g. CCP, label verification, weights, shift documentation)
  • Complete organoleptic assessment of the final product to ensure the product meets specification.
  • Responsible for investigating and analysing customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.
  • Raise non-conformances and support manufacturing with any investigations related to non-conformances including investigations linked to customer complaints.
  • Carry out internal audits as per schedule (e.g. glass, GMP, knife, pen, traceability)
  • Ensure calibration of equipment linked to Technical is maintained according to the calibration schedule.
  • Ensure retained production samples are sorted in a tidy manner and are easily identifiable.
  • Assist with traceability records keeping.
  • Actively suggest improvements in the current food safety and quality systems and processes within the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure all stock placed on hold/quarantine is resolved in a quick and efficient manner.
  • To support the QA manager as required.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety standards and internal quality protocols.

What are we looking for?

  • Basic Food Safety and HACCP qualification however ideally qualifies to Level 3, or equivalent.
  • Has an eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a great team player.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Computer literate

Working hours: shift based in line with manufacturing (06:30-14:30, 14:30-23:00) Rotating shifts
