We want to change lives for the better.As the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and evolving the QA capability across the organisation. You will be responsible for managing and developing QA teams, defining and owning the overall QA strategy and ensuring that quality is embedded throughout the full software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with engineering managers, project teams, business stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and secure software solutions for our customers. Your leadership, experience in modern QA practices, test automation and governance will be critical in maintaining and continuously improving our quality standards.**Role** | Fixed Term Contract to 31/12/2026**Location** | Leeds, West Yorkshire**Salary** | £ 70,618 to £77,680**Key Responsibilities**The role involves day-to-day responsibility for:**QA Team Management*** Lead, mentor and develop QA professionals, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.* Coach, support, and provide regular feedback to team members, ensuring clear development plans are in place.* Set clear objectives and expectations for team performance, conducting regular reviews and performance discussions.* Build appropriate team structures, skills, and capacity to meet current and future delivery demands.**Demand & Delivery Management*** Work with project and business stakeholders to plan and prioritise QA work across multiple initiatives.* Ensure QA commitments are realistic, clearly communicated and delivered on time and to the expected quality.* Monitor delivery progress, risks and dependencies, escalating issues where necessary.* Support estimation and planning activities to ensure QA is effectively integrated into delivery timelines.**QA Strategy & Quality Engineering*** Own and evolve the overall QA strategy, ensuring it aligns with organisational objectives and the wider software development lifecycle.* Champion a strong quality culture, embedding shift-left testing and continuous quality practices across teams.* Define and implement appropriate QA processes, standards, and best practices.* Ensure the right tools, frameworks, environments, and skills are in place to support modern software delivery.**Software Testing & Automation*** Provide leadership and direction on test automation and tooling, evaluating and recommending appropriate technologies and frameworks.* Ensure effective coverage of manual and automated testing for in-house developed and third-party supplied solutions.* Promote testing at all levels of the testing pyramid.* Work closely with engineering teams to ensure defects are identified early, prioritised correctly, and resolved efficiently.**Quality Control, Governance & Reporting*** Define, track and report on QA KPIs and metrics.* Ensure appropriate QA documentation, test evidence and artefacts are created and maintained.* Implement and monitor quality gates for software changes.* Ensure release and operational teams are informed of known issues, defects, and workarounds.* Drive continuous improvement initiatives.**Qualifications & Skills*** Relevant experience in a Quality Assurance role with a strong background testing in-house and 3rd party built solutions.* Proven experience managing QA teams.* Proven experience defining and owning QA strategies* Proficient in test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Selenium or Cypress.* Experience testing web applications, APIs, and integrated systems.We understand not everyone will meet 100% of the requirements, however we encourage you to apply if you think your skills are a good fit for this role.This job vacancy may close earlier than the advertised date if a suitable candidate is found.
