What You'll Do

We have an opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger to join our established group finance team. Your focus will be processing invoices through our system and ensuring prompt payment in line with Group payment policies. Responsibilities also include a knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and processing of certain suppliers as subcontractors.

  • Understand and operate the Company’s Accounting System, Evision, for the area of responsibility i.e. Purchase ledger processing and payment processing
  • Understand and operate the Continia system to facilitate accurate data entry to support the processing of invoices
  • Carry out the processing of invoices and payments via “subcontract through purchase ledger” depending on the nature of the supplier / their activities
  • Understanding and applying the rules of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
  • Understanding and applying VAT rules including the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge scheme (DRC)
  • Ensuring all sub-contractors provide CIS information, complying with internal vetting procedures
  • Ensure that appropriate purchase orders and receipts are recorded within the system in order to complete three-way matching in line with the Group’s internal control procedures
  • Processing utility invoices, communications with related third parties and liaising with the in-house Energy Manager
  • Processing Bankline payments
  • CIS Returns
  • Liaison with our Facilities Management team and suppliers to ensure that accurate records are received
  • Liaise with our Helpdesk, Plant and Buying departments regarding order and receipting queries
  • Expedite processing concerns in order to ensure that supplier payment policies are adhered to
  • Ensure key supplier account reconciliations are carried out on a regular basis
What You'll Bring

You will have relevant excellent experience as a purchase ledger and have a solid understanding of VAT. It is essential that you have excellent IT skills in particular Microsoft Excel. It goes without saying, you will be organised have outstanding time management skills along with a methodical approach, and exceptional attention to detail. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills both oral and written and build relationships with ease. We need your positive attitude and skills to complement our established team. Our ideal candidate will have;

  • You have proven experience in a Purchase Ledger/Accounts assistant role.
  • Knowledge of CIS and DRC
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of ERP systems and Office 365.
  • You have strong attention to detail and time management skills, you are able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and processing of suppliers as subcontractors
