Job summary

A leading construction and infrastructure company in Glasgow is seeking a Project Supply Chain Manager to oversee the procurement of subcontracts and materials. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in supply chain management, particularly within the construction industry. Responsibilities include optimizing procurement processes, developing vendor relationships, and managing risks within the supply chain. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supply chain management, preferably in construction.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the construction supply chain in the Scottish Central Belt.
  • Good knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC4 advantageous).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end-to-end subcontract procurement process.
  • Manage and optimise procurement processes for timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Identify and manage performance issues within the supply chain.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators.

As a Project Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for sub‑contract and materials procurement as well as vendor performance and relationship management. You will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Commercial and Project Management teams to ensure that subcontracts and materials are delivered on time, within budget and meet the required specifications. You will also be responsible for identifying the most appropriate procurement strategies and mitigating risks related to the supply chain function.


Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the end‑to‑end subcontract procurement process, including high value / high complexity works.

  • Manage and optimise procurement processes to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of works, goods and services.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure that the company receives high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices.

  • Identify and manage any performance issues identified within the supply chain.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to the supply chain function, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues.

  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators to ensure that the supply chain function is meeting its targets and objectives.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field (preferred).

  • CIPs level 4 or working towards (preferred).

  • Previous experience in supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Excellent working knowledge of the construction supply chain in the Scottish Central Belt.

  • A good working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC4 would be advantageous).

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement supply chain strategies and processes that support business goals and objectives.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
