Job Description
Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead large‑scale renewable energy projects in the UK, ensuring successful delivery of EPC and BESS projects within scope, budget, and schedule. This senior role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and commercial acumen to manage complex projects and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee end‑to‑end project execution for solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans aligned with milestones.
  • Monitor project performance, implement recovery plans for deviations, and ensure timely delivery.
Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favourable terms and ensure quality standards.
  • Manage customer audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Technical & Quality Assurance
  • Coordinate with engineering teams for design reviews and installation planning.
  • Enforce quality control programmes and health & safety compliance on all sites.
  • Validate subcontractor progress reports and associated payment requests.
Commercial & Contract Management
  • Review contract documents and ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Manage variation orders, cost analysis, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support procurement processes and ERP‑based project management systems.
  • Lead cross‑functional project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Mentor project managers and coordinators to ensure consistent delivery standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • 15+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in renewable energy EPC projects.
  • Proven track record managing multi‑million‑pound projects and large‑scale solar PV/BESS installations.
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, health & safety regulations, and renewable energy compliance.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, AutoCAD) and ERP systems (SAP, IFS).
  • PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • A passion for sustainability and environmental solutions.
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
