We are seeking to appoint an ambitious Project Cost Consultant to join our Property team in the Glasgow or Edinburgh office, delivering significant property schemes throughout Scotland and the North of England. Ideally you will be recently RICS qualified or on your route to do so.

Our team is involved in delivering some of the region's largest and most exciting building projects in the residential, commercial office, and sports and leisure sectors, ranging from £20m to £1bn+ in value. We have a fantastic pipeline, which we are recruiting for, and these projects will allow you to grow as an individual and provide the opportunity to work on the best projects and industry‑leading clients in the region.

Working with an established and highly successful team, your role will be to provide competent and professional quantity surveying support on a number of our large schemes, with the opportunity of leading your own schemes. You will work closely with Senior Partners and Directors and gain great exposure to future development opportunities.

This role is for flexible working, with an encouraged working pattern of between the office and home to allow collaboration with the team.

Role accountabilities
  • Assist with feasibility studies
  • Estimate and cost plan, including producing and presenting final cost plan
  • Tender and procure construction works, providing procurement advice to clients
  • Deal effectively with post‑contract cost variances and change control processes
  • Make personal responsibility for cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation
  • Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports and present them to the client
  • Input into value engineering
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts
  • Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages
  • Have strong knowledge of the JCT contracts
Qualifications & experience
  • RICS accredited surveyor or approaching final assessment
  • Commercial experience on major building projects £1m–10m+ in value
  • Demonstrate self‑management and prioritisation skills to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including influencing and leading stakeholders and third parties
  • Capable of working with the project lead to take a project from inception to completion
