Work arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Working as a key aspect of an Integrated Project Controls (Project Controls) team, our team aims to act as a centre of excellence for project controls implementation. We are the intelligent owners of the single source of delivery performance information, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the HPC project. We work as part of a matrix organisation supporting one of the following programmes/areas within the project: Central, Site, Engineering, MEH, Nuclear Island (NI), Conventional Island and Balance of Plant, Instrumentation and Controls, and Commissioning.

The role of Project Controls Engineer is to work within the Project Controls team across the parts of HPC project following the Project Controls strategy uniformly across the project. They will work with other members of the Project Controls team supporting the implementation of Project Controls specific processes and framework. They will follow all governance arrangements for Integrated Project Controls providing effective reporting of Project Controls information in a timely and accurate manner.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Produce and maintain accurate forecasts and Project Controls data in alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure or Work Breakdown Structure (CBS/WBS).
  • Accurately maintain all Project Controls data for their area of responsibility within the Project Controls software systems (e.g. Ecosys, P6, ARM etc.).
  • Co-ordinate and produce Project controls reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues.
  • Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on of risk and opportunities.
  • Deliver clear and concise insights to support robust decision-making utilising commercial and technical information to influence decisions.
  • Provide analytical support for Project Controls Managers and Senior Project Controls Engineers through robust analysis and interpretation of technical, financial, and performance data to facilitate prioritisation and any necessary actions.
  • Effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes in keeping with the HPC project values of “Humility, Positivity, Respect, Solidarity and Clarity” and the culture of “Trust, Transparency and Teamwork.”
  • Apply fundamental project and business project controls principles and interface with wider management processes. Help promote and embed a culture of good governance, risk awareness and compliance across the organisation.
  • Support the education of project controls reporting functionality and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in project management, project controls, engineering, or another related field.
  • Proven experience of Project Controls including the tools and a variety of techniques used to deliver project insight and assess performance.
