Part Time (18.5 hours per week)

Term Time Only for 40 weeks and Permanent

Salary scale 5: £30,165 - £33,119 (pro rata)

Please note, actual salary will be based on the number of term time only weeks worked. For example, from 5th January 2026, the pro‑rata salary will be £7,443 for 23 weeks worked.

For the full 40 weeks, the pro‑rata salary will be £13,300 ‑ £14,603.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join us in the role of a Progress Coach, joining our existing team at Bridgend College.

Responsibilities

As a Progress Coach, you will champion our learners' progress and success by managing a person‑centred learner journey for a caseload of learners within a curriculum area, enabling them to be all that they can be. As well as tracking their learner programme progress you will also develop and support the personal, social and emotional wellbeing of students, building their confidence, resilience and core skills through the Learning Programme Promise and by facilitating the college's tutorial programme.

Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who have experience of successfully working with young people in a post‑16 environment, with the ability to deliver high levels of care and compassion, taking a person‑centred approach working with learners. You will also have diplomacy, tact and emotional resilience when working with challenging students. You will join a supportive team who are passionate about the learner journey.

We would also particularly welcome applications from candidates that have a background in Creative Arts.

Registration as an FE Learning Support worker with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is a requirement for these roles and needs to be in place before the successful candidates can start.
