The position sits within the Power Generation Division, which is responsible for all NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations. The plant is located in Southport, Florida. Preferred craft: Electrical or I&C.

Job Overview

Position performs power plant operations as well as maintenance on station equipment. This role includes other miscellaneous duties such as water chemistry and environmental compliance activities. The position will be required to work on a 12-hour rotating shift including night shifts, weekends and holidays, and respond to off-hour callouts when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment as part of a multi-craft team.
  • Perform water chemistry and environmental compliance activities as assigned.
  • Support power generation operations on a 12-hour rotating shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays; respond to off-hour callouts as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must obtain outside/inside operation qualifications.
  • A candidate possesses Journeyman level qualification specific to the craft discipline (Industrial Electrician, Journeyman I&C, or Journeyman Mechanic), or may hold an Associate degree that directly applies to Power Generation.
  • Must obtain the basic craft qualification for the discipline if entering classification with a relevant Associate degree in addition to outside/inside operation qualifications.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Pass the POSS & MASS tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of industrial experience in the craft discipline specified in the Position Specific Description.
