Responsibilities
  • 1. You’ll manage products, current and future, to deliver the SunLife strategy, taking ownership of product and proposition developments as required.
  • 2. You’ll ensure all products, marketing channels and distribution partnerships, current and new, meet the required regulatory frameworks including PROD 4 and Consumer Duty.
  • 3. You’ll play a pro-active role in developing the product strategy, developing new products and shaping existing products.
  • 4. You’ll work closely with the key stakeholders to own and implement product enhancements and pricing that improves overall proposition.
  • 5. You’ll ensure each proposition continues to deliver both for SunLife and against customer outcomes.
  • 6. You’ll become a subject matter expert across the SunLife portfolio and provide stakeholders with technical support and delivery of product training when required.
  • 7. As required, you’ll own the relationship with the provider of SunLife’s propositions. Taking responsibility for monitoring performance, setting the agenda, preparing reporting packs and leading performance meetings, completing risk assessments, ensuring contracts are adhered to and run in accordance with the schedule and clauses, managing change requests and ensuring brand compliance.
  • 8. You’ll be the key point of escalation for Propositions, documenting and tracking any partner queries and/or issues, owning and progressing through to resolution whilst ensuring appropriate business functions are updated. You’ll represent SunLife/Proposition at all committees and boards where required.
  • 9. You’ll continually monitor proposition and industry developments to stay up to date with competitor activities and market developments.
  • 10. You’ll share your product, competitor and market knowledge with the Senior Management Team to influence day to day decisions and future business strategy.
  • 11. You’ll ensure the appropriate supplier framework and propositional relationships exist to best support the Commercial and Partnership team’s objectives conducting regular supplier reviews to ensure best value for money and good customer outcomes.
  • 12. You’ll create reports and/or papers for key internal committees, focussing on appropriate messages for the audience.

Measures of success
  • 1. You’ll manage products against a proposition roadmap which delivers the SunLife strategy and financial objectives.
  • 2. You’ll manage each product against the SunLife Product Lifecycle Management Process ensuring compliance and sign off by all key stakeholders.
  • 3. You’ll manage the product governance process for new product developments (including product enhancements and pricing changes) and product lifecycle management.
  • 4. You’ll deliver product development and build strong relationships with all key stakeholders, both internal and external to SunLife. You’ll build a reputation for ‘getting things done’.
  • 5. You’ll complete and obtain sign off for SunLife’s annual Proposition Reviews and drive through any actions resulting from the reviews.
  • 6. You’ll have a reputation across the Sunlife business as the go to point for all SunLife products.
  • 7. You’ll be all over the market in terms of what’s going on; there won’t be anything that you don’t know. You’ll be influential in identifying new products, competitors and market developments and communicating these to the wider business, including impact to SunLife.
  • 8. You’ll prepare, and when required present, product and competitor presentations for SunLife’s rolling program of Committee and Governance meetings.
  • 9. You’ll ensure that the distribution partners meets service standards and that any improvement plans are captured and tracked.
  • 10. You’ll act on feedback from departmental audits and control testing reviews.
  • 11. You’ll be responsible for reviewing and approving content relating to product and proposition to ensure its accurate, clear and not misleading.

You’ll have relationships right across the Sunlife business, in particular: CEO and members of the senior leadership team
