# Process Engineer### Job IntroductionAre you a **Process Engineer**Tarmac is the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business. Our innovative products and solutions not only deliver the infrastructure needed to grow the UK economy today but also help to create a more sustainable built environment for the country’s long-term future.We are recruiting for a **Process Engineer** to join the fantastic Tarmac team based in Dunbar.**Main Responsibilities**The successful candidate for the **Process Engineer**will be responsible for focusing on plant performance to enable the plant to achieve its health, safety, environment, quality and performance objectives.You will also be responsible for:· Maintaining high safety standards and effectively coach and challenge others to work safely· Monitoring key process parameters, identify actions and define instructions to deal with deviations from targets.· Conducting day to day and longer-term measurements and investigations to improve performance and optimise plant operations.· Implementing systems, tools and procedures to optimise the production process.· Supporting, and where appropriate lead, multidisciplinary teams, projects, Plant Improvement Plans (PIP) and other initiatives to meet business targets.· Building and maintaining positive relations with other teams to achieve the Plant’s goals.· Process automation, expert control systems and related optimisation to drive plant performance and cost reduction**The standard working hours are Monday-Friday, however, plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant.****This may involve night working, weekend and Bank holidays and being on call if necessary.**The ideal candidate for the role of **Process Engineer**will have experience within a similar role as well as experience of:· Experience in safety and environmental laws and regulations with high safety standards and a wide knowledge of Health and Safety management techniques· Proven experience in process engineering (preferably the cement industry) or other relevant industry· General knowledge in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics and IT.· Good knowledge of process control methods and statistical methods for troubleshooting.**Why Tarmac**We don't just offer a job, we offer a career.Alongside this role, you'll have access to industry-leading rewards, development opportunities, and a culture that puts people first, including:* Bonus scheme* Enhanced holiday entitlement* Contributory pension scheme* Access to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.* Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential advice* Access to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.
