Job description
Overview

Practice Nursing Assistant role at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Two friendly, professional Nursing Assistants needed to work as part of a Roving Nursing Assistant Team under supervision of a qualified nurse and assist in the delivery of NHS Health checks for patients registered at Northumbria Primary Care Practices. The successful candidates will work organisation wide with travel expected across all NPC sites. A base site will be Northumbria Way in which mileage can be claimed in addition to travel from home to base.

Salary: Band 3
£24,937 to £26,598 per annum. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time, Flexible working.

Location: NPC Wide – base site at Northumbria Way; Unit 2, Northumbria Health and Care Academy, Cramlington, NE23 6NZ.

Responsibilities
  • To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care.
  • To assist in the delivery of NHS Health Checks across the group.
  • To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To maintain high clinical standards.
  • To help maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • To assist in preparing clinical areas for procedures and provide appropriate delegated clinical care for the area of work, including: conduct ECGs, perform phlebotomy, non-complex wound dressings, and conduct some scans/investigations in a protocolised fashion.
Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level III in Health/Health & Social Care or a portfolio of equivalent experience.
  • Caring experience and previous care experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Courses and experience with transferable skills (e.g., respiratory essentials, basic stoma care, palliative care course for HCAs).
  • Experience of providing direct and indirect patient care.
