Practice Nurse – Andover

A fantastic opportunity has become available in Andover, Hampshire, for an experienced nurse to join a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making a real difference in the community, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.

The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated and approachable group of colleagues who work closely together to support one another and provide high-quality care to more than 11,000 patients in the local area. Regular support is built into the role, including bi‑weekly meetings with the clinical lead, ensuring you always feel part of a connected and valued team.

Main Duties of the Role
  • Deliver high‑quality patient care.
  • Undertake treatment room work, including chronic disease management (particularly asthma and COPD), immunisations, screening, and health promotion.
  • Contribute to setting and auditing standards of care.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe, therapeutic, and patient‑focused environment.
  • Assist in developing and delivering health promotion programmes and screening clinics.
  • Ensure safe storage and administration of medicines and clinical equipment.
  • Provide advice and support to patients in person and via telephone.
  • Actively participate in team discussions to ensure best practice is maintained.
About You
  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experienced in primary care.
  • Able to adapt to a changing healthcare environment and implement improvements.
  • Strong clinical decision‑making and critical thinking skills.
  • Awareness of local and national health policy.
  • Confident with IT systems (EmisWeb experience desirable) and basic use of Word, Excel, and email.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and committed to delivering excellent care.
Requirements
  • Current UK NMC registration.
  • Primary care experience is essential.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
  • Qualifications in asthma and COPD care.
  • Independent Nurse Prescriber.
