Overview

Equans is looking for a Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our team in Belfast on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

General Overview: We are seeking an experienced Heating Surveyor to lead, manage, and deliver surveys across residential projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for surveys of heating systems, ensuring they are designed to meet the client’s specifications and current regulations. Full compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. The role also involves mentoring colleagues, project supervision, and client communication. The role involves working on social housing projects and is a customer facing role; therefore, it would suit a candidate with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Actively support the Health and Safety Program and all actions specific to meeting annual H&S goals and objectives
  • Establish standards and ensure they are met
  • Provide detailed drawings at survey stage, highlighting key requirements to meet the specification and regulatory requirements
  • Pass all relevant surveys within a set period through to the design team to meet target dates
  • Measure and record property dimensions, insulation levels, ventilation, and heat loss to determine appropriate system specifications
  • Coordinate with installation teams and project managers to ensure smooth handover from survey to installation
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in heating technology and compliance standards

Who are we looking for?
  • Experience surveying in a domestic environment, ideally within a social housing setting
  • Strong knowledge of heating systems including gas boilers, renewable technologies (heat pumps, solar thermal), and controls
  • Familiarity with industry regulations such as Gas Safe, MCS, and Building Regulations
  • Proficient in using digital survey tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with energy efficiency surveys or EPC assessments
  • Full UK driving licence
