Are you a skilled PLC Software Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a designer and manufacturer of special purpose machinery, is seeking an engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative, bespoke automated systems for high-profile customers across regulated industries. You'll play a key role in the full project lifecycle – taking concepts from initial specification through to commissioning and customer handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and implement PLC software for bespoke automated machinery
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams
  • Support machine FAT/SAT activities and on-site commissioning
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Provide technical input during design reviews and customer meetings
Ideal Experience
  • PLC programming proficiency (Siemens preferred)
  • Background working with pharmaceutical equipment or other regulated sectors such as food & beverage, medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or FMCG
  • Experience delivering automation solutions for special purpose machinery, robotics, or complex production systems
  • Strong understanding of machine safety standards and validation processes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • A proactive engineer with excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication and the ability to engage confidently with customers
  • Someone who enjoys variety and the challenge of developing one‑off solutions
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning
