Responsibilities
  • Mark out and fabricate complex fabrications competently.
  • Tack weld components using TIG.
  • Interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Follow fabrication processes, quality procedures and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly and tack welding.
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated.
Detailed QHSE responsibilities
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Be familiar with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Permit to Work.
  • Attend required HSE training, meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Check that tools, equipment and materials comply with HSE standards.
  • Verify that work is supported by the relevant Method Statements and permits.
  • Conduct periodic HSE inspections and report incidents and near misses.
Profile
  • NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication (or equivalent).
  • City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 – desirable.
  • Fundamental understanding of fabrication drawings.
  • Experience with TIG/MIG/MAG tack welding.
  • Time‑served/apprentice trained or equivalent experience.
  • Experience plating stainless‑steel / carbon steel structures.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed CAD drawings.
  • Experience working in a production and engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations.
Salary and benefits
  • Hourly rate of £28.18 plus allowances and overtime (ECSA agreement).
  • 25 days annual leave per year.
  • 5% employer pension contribution (salary sacrifice) – 1% minimum employee.
