Job description

Overview

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Plant Mechanic will join our New Machines Team on a Full-Time basis at our Guildford site. The Plant Mechanic will be assisting with the building and testing of the latest Caterpillar equipment, ensuring all machinery meets our high standards of quality and performance.

The New Machines Department at WesTrac specializes in providing cutting-edge machinery solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining industry. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative, reliable, and efficient Caterpillar equipment to enhance operational productivity and safety.

Roster

Monday to Friday. 10.5 hours (including a meal break)

What You’ll Do

• Build the latest Caterpillar Equipment ensuring it meets our quality and performance standards
• Implement dealer provided custom installations
• Work alongside team members to manage and complete high volume tasks efficiently
• Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard

Skills & Experience

• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
• Exposure to mining / construction equipment or other industrial areas such as agriculture or highway trucks, hire equipment is highly considered
• CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems efficiently
• Ability to work with various types of machinery and adapt to new technologies and methods
• Precision in assembling, testing, and maintaining equipment to ensure safety and performance standards are met
