The role requires a candidate with proven experience in new business sales and account management and a strong knowledge of Plant Hire, preferably with some experience in the Water Industry. You will possess the commercial acumen and drive to successfully manage the strategic and operational aspects of this position.

HUBER Technology offers flexibility in terms of the location, but the role will require you to travel to clients across the UK in support of business activities. This also includes regular visits to our Regional Office in Rotherham, which is the main hub for the fleet of hire equipment and direct reporting point.

The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will enjoy working closely and professionally with internal and external customers.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:
  • Ensure continuous growth, development and profitability of the Hire business in line with business strategy.
  • Ensure the Hire business delivers technical and commercially viable solutions, which offer value to the customer.
  • Full responsibility for the Hire Business P&L.
  • Proactively promote and present Huber Technology’s solutions to existing and new customers.
  • Retain, manage and grow existing customer base.
  • Contribute to framework agreements to include Hire units.
  • Monitor Hire machine utilisation and ensure alignment to the business plan.
  • Ensure Hire customer orders are expedited on time and within budget.
  • Liaise with the Regional Field Managers and Hire Support Technician to co‑ordinate end‑of‑hire repair and maintenance of the hire fleet to ensure every hire asset is to specification, fully tested and ready for the next hire.
  • Work with Contracts Engineers where a Hire Solution is required as part of project delivery.
  • Work closely with Area Sales Managers to ensure they effectively promote the Hire Business.
  • Monitor Hire machine maintenance cost against budget and identify when disposal or replacement is required.
  • Determine hire machine rental prices based on market conditions and opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to proactively promote the hire business.
Your profile:
  • You ideally will have completed a formal qualification in a Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering discipline or substantial relevant engineering experience.
  • You have the ability to identify and understand business opportunities, and to build long term relationships with customers.
  • You are financially and commercially driven with the enthusiasm and experience to maintain and grow new business.
  • You can demonstrate a practical approach to engineering to develop the right solution that meets customer requirements.
  • You are a confident communicator with the ability to negotiate at varying levels.
  • You will enjoy the detail of technical aspects as well as commercial aspects of this role.
  • You are customer focused and enjoy working with a variety of people and are confident in your ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • You are IT literate and proficient in use of ERP systems.
  • A valid UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points) is essential for this role, as you will be required to drive regularly as part of your duties.

In addition, you are a self‑starter who can deliver results, with excellent time management, communication and organisational skills. You have a flexible approach to working hours to suit the business needs.
