Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a Plant Fitter to handle the repair and maintenance of heavy construction machinery across the Midlands area. Candidates must have a full clean UK driving license and a Level 3 Plant Mechanics qualification. The role entails daily preparation of machinery and servicing various plant equipment to ensure project efficiency. This position offers a permanent self-employed contract with full hours from 7 AM to 5 PM.

Job description

Over 30 years of quality groundworks and civil engineering

We are currently seeking a Plant Fitter to cover our Midlands operating area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy construction machinery, small plant and vehicles to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.

The successful applicant will:
  • Meet the qualifications and experience requirements outlined below
  • Hold a full, clean UK driving license
  • Hold a Level 3 Plant Mechanics or Maintenance qualification
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Prepare oil, parts, tools and information each day before starting the daily schedule.
  • On occasion, stop off at supply chain stores for any urgent pickups of related items.
  • Service, repair and maintain:
    • 1 to 10 tonne forward tipping dumpers (Thwaites, Terex)
    • 3 to 25 tonne excavators (Hitachi, Doosan, Kubota)
    • Small tools (Whackers, Stil Saws, Poker units, Breaker packs, sub pumps)
    • Road going vehicles (Vans, pickups and trucks)
    • Rollers (Ammann, Bomag, Terex, Hamm)
    • Lifting accessories (Block grabs, Fork attachments)

Contract Type: Permanent/Self-employed

Weekly Hours: 07:00am to 17:00pm (we are open to discussing reasonable adjustments)
