Overview

The Church of England Pensions Board is a registered charity and one of the Church Institutions (NCIs), supporting the Church's mission through financial and housing services. We provide pension schemes, housing, and charitable grants to over 30,000 current and former clergy, church workers, and their families. Within our Housing Department, we offer a range of housing options to support clergy in retirement, including Community Living schemes and partnerships with other housing providers to expand access and choice. We are looking for a Planned Maintenance Surveyor to join our growing team, managing a programme of work worth around £8m annually. You’ll help ensure our residents live in safe, comfortable homes across our rental and Community Living schemes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Deliver planned maintenance projects including external repairs, internal refurbishments, and energy-saving upgrades.
  • Manage major works at sheltered housing schemes.
  • Work closely with residents, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Survey properties and develop specifications and forward works programmes.
What we’re looking for
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential maintenance and construction.
  • Experience in contract management and customer service in occupied housing.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • A construction-related qualification and a valid UK driving licence.
Location

Home-based in the South West. Travel across England and Wales is required, with some visits to our London office.

Salary & Benefits Package
  • Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
